RevOps copilots & agent builders: n8n or an agent platform?
Many tools in this category are themselves the "build" option: agent builders and AI-native CRMs. The real question is which builder fits your team, and whether you need a hosted, no-code tool or a workflow engine you can self-host.
Build it in n8n when…
- You have someone technical and want cost control at volume, version control and self-hosting.
- Your agents need custom code steps or call internal APIs.
- You want one tool for classic automations and AI agents.
Buy a tool when…
- Non-technical users need to build and edit agents themselves.
- You want an AI-native CRM rather than adding AI on top of your current one.
- Speed to first result matters more than per-run cost.
Example n8n workflow: Ask-the-CRM Slack agent
- Slack trigger on a mention in a #revops channel.
- AI Agent node with read-only CRM tools (search deals, get account, list activities).
- Restrict tools to read-only; any write goes through a Wait node approval.
- Reply in thread with the answer and the records it used.

Watch out for
- Give agents read-only credentials until you trust them.
- Watch credit- or task-based pricing on hosted builders once usage grows.
What n8n costs
- n8n Cloud Starter is €20/month and Pro is €50/month, both billed annually (n8n.io/pricing, checked 2026-10-17).
- n8n bills per workflow execution, not per step, so a 20-step enrichment flow counts as one execution.
- The Community Edition is free to self-host from GitHub.
- n8n has HubSpot and Salesforce nodes plus trigger nodes, a Slack node, an HTTP Request node for any API, an AI Agent node, and a Wait node that can pause a workflow for a form submission (useful for human approval).

| Tool | Build in n8n or buy? |
|---|---|
| Attio Free €0; Plus €31/user/mo; Pro €74/user/mo (annual; €39/€93 monthly); Enterprise: talk to sales | It's a CRM, so it's a buy. Its API and workflows pair well with n8n. |
| Bardeen Basic $10/mo (+100 credits); Premium $50/mo (+1,000 credits); Enterprise: contact sales | Cheap enough to buy for browser-side scraping; server-side workflows belong in n8n. |
| Cargo From $0/mo; tiers from $165/mo, $250/mo, $1,190/mo and $3,000/mo | Direct alternative to building in n8n. Buy if your RevOps team prefers GTM-specific building blocks; build in n8n if you already have the skills and want lower run costs. |
| Coefficient Free $0; Starter $49/mo; Pro $99/user/mo; Enterprise: contact | Close call: a scheduled n8n export from CRM to Sheets is easy, but Coefficient's two-way write-back is not. |
| Copy.ai Chat $29/mo (5 seats, billed monthly); Enterprise: contact | Content workflows are very DIY-able with n8n + any LLM; buy for governance and enterprise onboarding. |
| Day.ai Free $0; Turbo $24/agent/mo; Professional $60/agent/mo; Executive $200/agent/mo (volume discounts) | Buy if you want a CRM that fills itself; DIY auto-capture across email and calendar is a big project. |
| Gumloop Pro from $37/mo (20k credits/mo); Enterprise: custom | Same tier as n8n/Make. Pick based on team skills; n8n wins on self-hosting and per-execution cost. |
| HubSpot Breeze Customer Platform: Free €0; Starter €7/seat/mo (marked limited-time 65% off); Professional €90/seat/mo; Enterprise €175/seat/mo (annual, shown in EUR) | Use what's included if you're on HubSpot; add n8n for cross-system jobs Breeze can't reach. |
| Lightfield $89/user/mo (founders); $999/mo (small teams); $1,999/mo (scaling); extra capture seat $200/mo | Buy if starting fresh; migrating an established CRM is the real cost. |
| Lindy Free ($50 in credits); $49.99/user/mo (5,000 credits); top-ups $10 per 1,000 credits | Overlaps with n8n's AI agent nodes. Buy for speed and non-technical users; build in n8n for cost control and self-hosting. |
| Make Free $0 (1,000 credits/mo); Core $9/mo, Pro $16/mo, Teams $29/mo (10,000 credits/mo, billed annually); Enterprise: contact sales | This is a 'build' option, like n8n and Zapier. Make bills per action (credits), n8n per full workflow execution, so compare cost at your volume before you pick. |
| Rox $100/mo (individual); $255/mo (teams); Enterprise: contact sales | Buy if you want an AE-facing agent UI; account research digests are a realistic n8n + LLM build. |
| Salesforce Agentforce Foundations $0; Flex Credits $500 per 100k credits (an action = 20 credits); Agentforce user license $5/user/mo (requires Flex Credits); editions with Agentforce from $550/user/mo | Use it for in-Salesforce actions. For cross-tool workflows, n8n is often cheaper than metered agent actions; model your action volume first. |
| Sweep Unknown | Buy if Salesforce tech debt is your bottleneck; metadata documentation isn't a sensible DIY job. |
| Unify Free $0; $20/seat/mo; $60/seat/mo; Enterprise: contact sales; mailboxes $25/mo | Buy for signals and sequencing; low-cost self-serve tiers make DIY hard to justify. |
| Zapier Agents Free $0 (100 tasks/mo); paid from $19.99/mo and from $69/mo; Enterprise: contact sales | This is the 'build' option. Versus n8n: Zapier is faster to start, while n8n is cheaper at volume and self-hostable. |
